Election Guides

Ensure your audience has the most important information they need to cast their ballot, including continually-updated key actions based on approaching deadlines.

Help Voters Act Now

Our election guides help voters act now by highlighting the most relevant steps they can take in making their plan to vote. Paired with election reminders, they empower voters with the information they need to vote in all elections, big and small. Local elections in the U.S. have long experienced subpar voter turnout, and voters often cite a lack of knowledge about them. No matter when a voter visits an election guide, they can take immediate action.

Our election guides are dynamically updated, providing your audience with the timely and actionable information they’re searching for. What voters need two months before the election is different from what they need the day before the election, so our guides ensure voters are receiving the most timely and useful information to vote.

Each election guide also provides a list of important dates and deadlines with quick links to election office resources, and we emphasize key changes in legislation and litigation that may impact voters.

Timely, Reliable & Accurate Guidance

Our number one priority when it comes to election guidance is ensuring that all of the information we provide to voters is accurate, timely, and actionable.

We conduct two rounds of quality assurance for each election to confirm election-specific dates, deadlines, and rules. This rigorous review process acts as a fail-safe and reinforces the integrity of our data, which is collected only from authoritative government sources.

This allows us to account for any changes that may have occurred during the research period, guaranteeing the most current information.

We organize complex information in a convenient user interface, ensuring our content is both accessible and true to official sources.

Key Actions, Deadlines & More!

Each page includes an "Act Now" section clearly highlighting the most important things the voter needs to do to make their plan to vote in a specific election. It also provides voters the option to get election reminders or be reminded to vote in future elections.

Instead of simply showing a static list of deadlines that may have passed or may not be relevant, the calls-to-action in this section change as the date gets closer to the election.

For example, here is what a voter may see when an election is…:

  • A month away:

    • Check your voter registration

    • Request a vote-by-mail ballot

    • Find an early polling location

    • Find a ballot dropoff site

  • Tomorrow:

    • Polling location lookup

    • Polling location hours

    • Check your voter registration

    • What to bring to vote (ID requirements)

  • Yesterday:

    • Check ballot status

    • Sign up for election reminders

Discovery

Voters simply need to enter their address or select their state on your TurboVote homepage to access guides for their upcoming elections. If they don’t have any elections upcoming soon, voters can seamlessly sign up for election reminders so they don’t miss an opportunity to vote in the future.

Voters who are signed up for election reminders will twice receive a direct link to each election guide. The first reminder comes approximately a month before the election to ensure the voter has time to make a plan to vote. The second is sent the day before that particular election as a final reminder to find their polling location to cast their ballot.

There are several ways for voters to reach an election guide. You can embed your TurboVote homepage or election search to help voters find actionable, personalized guidance, or you can directly embed any state or local election guide right on your website.
