Impact

Legislation enacted today will impact the next generation for decades to come. It’s more important than ever to engage a new generation of voters to ensure their voices are heard and they have a say in the future of their government.

Encouraging youth to register as early as they can increases the likelihood of them being registered before the first election they are eligible to vote in — thus increasing their overall likelihood of voting.

Our Preregister to Vote tool helps future voters, aged 15-17, register to vote as soon as they’re old enough to do so in their state. We help future voters understand what actions they can take now, empowering them to vote as soon as they turn 18.

Discovery

To engage future voters you can embed the Preregister to Vote tool or any Youth State Voting Guide seamlessly on your own website, or share a link directly to your co-branded destination site. Users can also access the preregistration tool from your TurboVote homepage.

Encourage future voters to share a unique referral link with their friends and classmates!

How It Works

Upon signing up with TurboVote, users under 18 are told whether they’re eligible to register to vote. All states allow people under 18 to register to vote in some circumstances, and some allow you to register as young as 16. TurboVote details all the eligibility requirements for each state and provides clear next steps.

Users will also receive notifications reminding them to register, and if someone wasn’t old enough when they signed up, we’ll text them when they are.

Our Guidance

Youth State Voting Guides include all the information and links future voters need to register to vote, tailored to people under 18. Each guide exclusively focuses on methods of registration open to people under 18. Guidelines are written to be helpful and clear to future voters who likely have never registered to vote before.

Each actionable guide includes:

  • links to state online registration portals, where available, with instructions,

  • links to registration forms, with instructions,

  • information about which registration options are available to people under 18 (online, by mail, and in person),

  • and more for youth voters.
