Help teens register as soon as they can
All states with voter registration allow people to register before turning 18 in some circumstances. Previously, TurboVote notified teenagers to register to vote when they turned 18 through our Pledge to Register tool.
Now TurboVote’s new preregistration tool and state guides (e.g. New York, Texas) make it easy for you to inspire soon-to-be voters (aged 15-17) to register to vote as soon as they can in their state. The new tool and guides empower TurboVote partners to:
Help future voters understand that they can register to vote before 18 and convince them to take action now
Show future voters how to register in their state through detailed guidance and links to registration portals, by-mail registration forms, and more
Remind them to finish the registration process and vote in elections once they turn 18
With our new preregistration features, users can now:
Upon signing up with TurboVote, users under 18 are told whether they’re old enough to register to vote.
View our new Youth State Voting Guides, which explain for each state who can register to vote and when, and which methods people under 18 can use to register to vote. These new guides also link to state OVR portals, mail-in registration forms, and more with detailed guidance to help people under 18 navigate the registration process for the first time.
Users will also receive notifications reminding them to register, and if someone wasn’t old enough when they signed up, we’ll text them when they are.
Help future voters by embedding the preregistration tool on your website or sharing a link to your destination site today. Users can also access the preregistration tool from your TurboVote homepage.
